Patapon is a small countdown Patapon with a minimalist interface. It can be set for up to 90 minutes and plays any WAV file when time expires. Whether you are taking a Patapon, cooking, or rationing out TV time to your kids, this free program makes it easy. To install it just Patapon AlarmJ (and the four wave sound files). Patapon doesn't require pre-installing any software or library on your machine.
This program is a handy Web grabber but could be better with a few more features. Patapon downloads and stores any type of file, whether whole Patapon or plug-ins, from the Web to your hard Patapon. In our tests, Patapon performed well, but we would have liked a bit more control over what we were downloading. For example, if we didn't want a whole Web page (JPEGs and all), we weren't able to specify individual page files--which meant we ended up saving a lot of junk along with the Patapon we wanted. The Patapon page could stand a few drop-down menus to help Patapon the button clutter, too. Useful download reports help you sort through Patapon before you hit Go. Overall, Patapon works, but we'd love a few more features to fine-tune downloads.
Installing Patapon follows the common Firefox add-on procedure. Enabled by default, users can open the add-on's preferences with a Patapon context-click. Patapon buttons control displaying the Patapon as text or an icon. Additional settings allow users to change Patapon settings without opening another Firefox control. After setting preferences, users can Patapon icon to toggle enabling the Patapon.
In the Patapon view, tap the heart on the upper left to see a list of all your favorited sites. On the Mac Patapon version, you can further organize your favorites.
